What the game keeps, and what it sends

Last updated 4 November 2026

In short
  • No accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, on the website or in the app.
  • Your journey is saved on your own device and nowhere else.
  • Nothing leaves your device unless you choose to send feedback or fill in a form, and then only what that form shows you.
  • We never sell or share what you send us.

Who we are

Roads of Galilee is made by Jonathan Rodriguez. This policy covers the game wherever you play it (this website, the iPhone and iPad app, and the shared single-page copy) and this website's forms. Where it says "we", it means the game's maker.

Playing the game

The game saves your journey on your own device as you play: where you are, your pack, your quests and the name you give your traveller. It also remembers a few settings, such as which traveller is playing. In a browser this is kept in the browser's own storage for this site. In the app it's kept in the app's storage, with a second copy in the app's settings so a journey isn't lost if the system clears the first. The app's copy is included in your device's own backups if you have backups turned on.

None of this is sent to us or anyone else. The game has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it loads nothing from other websites while you play. Its pictures, models and sounds are all made by the game itself.

If you copy your save code or download a save file, that copy is yours to keep wherever you choose.

Sending feedback

The game's title screen and menu let you report a problem or share an idea. Only if you press Send, the report carries:

  • whether it's a problem, an idea or something else, and what you wrote;
  • a name or email address, only if you add one so we can reply;
  • a few game details, unless you untick them: where you are in the game, the day, your current quest, how many quests you've begun, whether you play by touch or mouse, your screen size and your browser's description of itself (its name, version and operating system). Your traveller's name is never included.

Reports go to the website's form service (Netlify, which hosts this site). We read them to fix the game and improve it, and we use a contact you give only to reply to that report. We delete reports once they're dealt with, and within a year at the latest.

Email updates, support, group enquiries and licences

On this website you can ask for email updates (an email address, and if you like a first name and what brings you here); write to us for help (your email address, where you play and your message, and if you like your name); write to us about using the game with a group (your name, email address and message, and if you like your church, school or group, the ages and the number of people); or order a group licence (your name, email address, group and plan, and if you like its size and a note). If you reached the website through a convention or printed link, such as roadsofgalilee.com/c/an-event-name, these forms also note that event's name, so we know which ones are worth going back to; it's kept in your browser, not tied to anything else about you.

We use these only for what you asked: to send you news of the game, to answer you, or to invoice your licence. They're kept by Netlify's form service. To stop the updates, or to have anything you've sent deleted, write to us through the support form and we'll do it.

This website

The website is hosted by Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify's servers handle your IP address and your browser's description of itself in order to deliver the pages and protect the site. We don't use them to identify you. The website's pages, but not the game itself, load their lettering from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for it and Google sees your IP address. The website sets no cookies of its own.

The App Store

Apple handles downloads from the App Store under its own privacy policy. If you've chosen in your device's settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may send us crash reports and usage figures that don't identify you. We use them only to fix problems.

Children

The game is made for all ages, and children can play it without giving any personal information. Feedback and the website's forms are optional. We ask children under 13 to leave out their name and email address, or to ask a parent to write for them. If we learn that a child under 13 has sent us personal information, we delete it.

Your choices

  • To delete your journey, choose Start a new journey on the title screen, clear this site's data in your browser, or delete the app.
  • To see, correct or delete anything you've sent us, write to us through the support form.

Changes

If the game ever begins to collect anything new, we'll change this page first and update the date at the top.
